As we celebrate the good 'ole USA and the freedoms that we all enjoy as citizens this 4th of July, SafeRide wants to remind everyone that, according to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration: "They'll See You Before You See Them"! Law Enforcement that is....
Operation Zero Tolerance will be in full swing over the 4th of July holiday. Road blocks en mass will blanket the Atlanta Metro area. You may find that as you round a corner, almost home, blue lights all around....no where to go. It will be too late to think, "Dang...should have called SafeRide".
If you decide to imbibe in some adult beverages while grilling out with friends or during a visit to your favorite bar, please make sure you call someone to take you home...anyone. Dram shop liability is a legal theory which establishes that bars, taverns, liquor stores, and other businesses that sell alcoholic beverages can be held liable for damages caused by their patrons. The laws are aimed to prevent bars and taverns from selling alcohol to minors and to individuals who are visibly intoxicated.

In a July 5th ruling by the Georgia Supreme Court, convenience stores CAN be held liable for harm resulting from selling alcohol to a noticeably drunk customer that gets behind the wheel of a car.
